The new version comes with a much bigger wire so it won't burst! (well it shouldn't) but it means that postage is slightly more expensive than before - small parcel not large letter.

All my books have a gorgeous 230gsm matte photo paper cover, front and back. With your chosen design printed on (and your personalised wording) I then place thick frosted plastic covers over those, to protect front and back, this gives a more sturdy cover.
